The Advocacy Working Group contributes to achieving PETCORE EUROPE’s vision of achieving widespread recognition of the performance of PET as a circular material of choice and ensuring that it is effectively collected, sorted, and recycled.
Established in December 2023, the Advocacy Working Group’s mission is to:
- Influence decision-making by providing sector specific information to policymakers (European Commission, European Parliament, Council)
- Engage and collaborate with decision-makers by proposing solutions and guidance that reflect the latest technological and scientific developments
- Align the PET value chain around common policy objectives
- Liaise with other EU associations, where common positions exist, to advance shared policy objectives
- Implement PETCORE EUROPE’s stakeholder engagement plan
- Represent the PET industry vis-à-vis European institutions and other stakeholders
- Promote the positioning of PET as an outstanding and circular packaging material
