The legislative landscape has become more complex in recent years with the need to not only understand the changes being proposed by legislators, but also the possibility to contribute to shaping them, having increased substantially.

Our industry must continue to have opportunities to innovate while also being fully compliant with all food directives and regulation. The creation of a proper “level playing field” is a must if we want to boost the growth of the PET industry and make it more resilient to the ongoing crisis.

PETCORE EUROPE has built a team of experts in policy and regulatory issues which has enabled our association to become an active member of many of the working groups dealing with food contact matters within DG ENV, DG Santè, DG Trade and DG Grow.

We bring our expertise to bear in each of the institutional activities relevant to our members - including standardisation (CEN) working groups, 1616/2022 modification, SUP 2 implementing acts, EFSA, PPWR debate, EoW (End of Waste), Ecodesign, CPA (Circular Plastic Alliance), RPET custom codes creation and many more.

We organise regular webinars to keep our members and non-members up-to-date with legislative changes, highlighting those points which are of paramount importance for our industry and detailing our actions in relation to the European Commission.
